Health and Wellness: My Top 5

by | Aug 28, 2018

Hey guys! Happy Tuesday!

Since my business has something to do with with Health and Wellness I thought I would give y’all my top 5 favorite Health and Wellness go to’s! This is in no particular order, I couldn’t put them in order if I wanted to. I love them all! Haha!

  1. Greens Supplement powder

I use the Amazing Grass: Green Superfood brand. We normally get it on amazon, it’s better priced. Costco just started caring them in individual packets for a good price too. It’s a powder that I put in my water every morning(I try) to start off my day. I normally mix it with just water but they suggest you drink it with any kind of drink you want. If you don’t drink any kind of protein shake, or supplement drink then it might taste a little weird at first. I use to drink it with orange juice and it makes a big different in the taste. So if your a beginner maybe starting off mixing it with just OJ. I don’t use OJ any more because its too sweet for me.

So what exactly is it? Just one little scoop is the equivalent of 1-2 full servings of fruits and veggies. It’s ingredients help to energize, detox, and boost immunity in your body. I have noticed a big difference when I use it regularly. My body feels cleaner, my skin feels fresh and I since taking it I haven’t been sick. What’s great about this particular brand is that they have tons of other flavors and ones that have different ingredients that does something different to benefit your body. I totally recommend this!

  1. Dry brush

Ahhh, once I discovered a dry brush I COULD NOT… WILL NOT go without using it! I use the EcoTools Dry Body Brush, you can get this anywhere, Walmart, Target, Ulta etc.! Pretty much it’s a big brush that looks like one you would use to groom a horse. You just rub your body down with it before you get in the shower. When you first use it, it may feel really harsh on your skin but you’ll get use to it the more times you use it.

The point of the brush is to take off all the dead skins cells to help detoxify and smooth skin BEFORE you get in the shower. It also helps vascular blood circulation, reduce cellulite, ingrown hairs and a lot more. I noticed a HUGE difference the first time I used it! Y’all, my skin is SO smooth! Now I can’t take a shower without brushing myself down first. It sounds extensive and it may be one more step you need to do in the shower but trust me its so worth it!

  1. Apple Cider Vinegar

I know, I know, apple cider vinegar is NASTY! And yes, it is VERY gross! But there are so many health benefits to taking it. It can help your sugar levels, it can help you lose weight, lower cholesterol, improves heart health, can help clear a stuffy nose or a cold if you feel one coming on. There are so many other benefits, I could go on and on. There are so many different ways to use it as well. You can cook with it, use it to clean, and even use to it help preserve certain foods.

It is nasty don’t get me wrong but Micah and I find it so worth it. You can drink it with water and honey, cold or hot whatever helps you drink it. There are also companies out there that put apple cider vinegar in there juices so it can taste better. Micah and i just take a shot of apple cider vinegar through a straw, which we find to be easier than just drinking straight. Research beforehand so you can take it in a way that best fits you so you don’t have to suffer though it. If only you guys could see my husband take the shots of apple cider vinegar, it’s hilarious! He’s really dramatic when he drinks it. But to his defense his mom made him take a sip of it as punishment growing up. So he just has bad memories attached to the drink. But its good for you so he pushes through it. So proud! Haha!

  1. Sourced Water

I will admit I am one of those people that drink bougie and semi expensive water. I truly believe that you should invest in the quality of the water you put in your body. Our bodies are 70% water, so we should be careful and cautious of the water we put in our bodies. I believe you should be able to trace the source of the water. That way you can see where the water comes from, and that will speak to the quality of water it is. Think about it. Would you rather drink a bottle water that says its from a natural spring that you know has natural minerals than a bottle of water that it is says it comes from a city’s water supply. Which in simplest form it is filtered sewage water. Sure the spring water was probably filtered at some point, but the difference is the fact I know EXACTLY where it came from. Now, Micah and I are particular with our water but we’re not overly particular. We still drink water at restaurants give us, unless it taste off. We use a filer(A really really good one) at home that we use for cooking and for leisure drinking. But we do go out of our way to buy and invest in good sourced water. Paying attention to where the water comes from, we pick and chose the water we wanted in our bodies and what we felt comfortable with. In doing so, we noticed a difference in our bodies. We feel more hydrated, and we noticed a difference in the way our gut and stomach process food. Which we did more research and it turns out we were drinking higher PH levels, which honestly is a whole other topic I could go into but I don’t want to bore you. Haha! Drinking higher Ph levels played a big part in the way we felt but it all started when we began to pay attention on where our water was coming from. There is so much more I can say about this topic, but again I don’t want to bore you with all the little details. But this is the small over view of what and why we pay attention to our water and why it made it to my top 5 favorite health and wellness go to’s.

  1. Papaya tablets

I use these pretty often, ya girl loves to EAT! I use the GNC Natural Brand Papaya Enzyme. What this chewable tablet does, is that it supplies the proteolytic enzyme papain derived from papaya fruit, to help ease digestion, release vital nutrients and support healthy digestive function.

I normally use this after I eat a big meal, or a fatty, greasy(which I don’t eat often.)meal. I’ll also use it if I eat something new. Some times I just take them just so I can have the benefits of them in my system. It helps that they taste so good. Since using them(I’ve been taking it for YEARS!) I am regular, and rarely have ANY problems with digestion. I also feel less bloated and yucky after I have a fatty, greasy meal.

These are just some of my secrets to my health and wellness. I believe the little things we do for out bodies will make a big impact in the long run. I want to be able to keep up with my kids and my grand kids. My kids, my family are worth me taking care of myself. With that said, this brings me to the next thing. My Health and Wellness business will be geared towards helping families as a whole! I am soo close to announcing my Dream Project! Come back Thursday for another clue and I’ll reveal when I’ll announce the launch of my new business.
