Matthew 28:20 (NKJV)

20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

Here Jesus is commissioning his 11 disciples to go out into the world and spread the Good News. He is telling them go to the nations and make new disciples and teach them everything that they have learned from Him.

At this point, Jesus’ disciples had been with Him for 3 years. They had been learning from Him, watching, and doing as He did. They never did ministry without Jesus or without being able to go back to Him after being sent out. For the first time they were commissioned to go to new nations to spread the Good News by themselves! Or were they? Jesus is quick to affirm that He will ALWAYS be with them, even to the end of time.

How comforting it is to know that Jesus is ALWAYS with us! He is with us in our highest and our lowest. He is with us when we have doubt and fear. Can you imagine how the disciples must have felt when Jesus told them to go to the nations and minister “alone” for the first time? They were probably scared and full of doubt. How often do we feel that way?

The good news is that we can live with confidence knowing that Jesus is ALWAYS with us! There is no time limit, no bad deed, and no obstacle that could turn Jesus away from us. Whether we’re facing relocation, loss of a loved one, or dealing with insecurities, God is still with us. He is there to give you the strength, wisdom and peace you need to keep moving forward. We will never be alone, Jesus is always here, helping us, guiding us, pouring into us.

This scripture is very near and dear to my heart. It’s helped me through some dark times when I thought I was alone and not worth anyone’s time. It was such a good reminder for me that even time wouldn’t get in the way of God being with me. If time itself couldn’t get in the way, nothing could.

My prayer for you

I pray that you find comfort in Jesus knowing that He will be ALWAYS be with you. You can handle anything that is thrown at you because He is with you. You are an overcomer, a conqueror. You have been equipped with everything you need, you have no reason to worry. You can live life knowing that you will never have to walk a step alone. You have Someone pouring strength, wisdom, and peace over your life. I pray that you NEVER lose sight of this reality and how loved you truly are by your Heavenly Father.
