HEALTH AND BEAUTY FAVORITES
I get a lot of feedback on social media and I would say a majority of it (besides the post about my kids) is for my health and beauty related post. It has been an overwhelming response that I thought I had to do an updated Health and Beauty Favorites!
I got a lot of responses on Instagram when I posted one of my favorite hydrating drinks, Body Amer. It’s tasty and good for you! Unlike its competitors, there isn’t any food coloring, salt, and some of them even have vegetable oil! That’s so disgusting. It’s so important to know what exactly is going in your body. With Body Amer, I know what’s in it and I am able to sleep at night knowing it’s actually benefiting my body.
Another one of my favorite hydrating drinks is Liquid IV, which actually is a powder you add to water. Micah and I lived off of it this over the summer. It helps BIG time with hydration. I get headaches when I get dehydrated, but within 10 minutes of taking this, my headaches go away. I feel instantly hydrated. I HIGHLY recommend these drinks. They are both good for you and tasty!
One of my new favorite things is my nails but I do it very differently. I use press-on nails instead of nail polish. I’m not going to lie, I used to look down on press-on nails. I thought they were so childish and looked really fake and impractical. Then I was introduced to the adult press-on nails. They can actually look realistic and be practical. They stay on nicely for a week and a half and cost from $8-$10. It’s cheap, it doesn’t ruin my nails, I can change them out whenever I want, and I can file them down to whatever length/shape I want. It turns out the press-on nails aren’t lame!
Over the last few months, I have been experimenting with good, clean hydrating facial lotion and I have two that I love for completely different reasons. Elf Hello Hydration! Face Cream is a creamy, not thick, and not sticky lotion. I really wanted something that was hydrating that I could use right before applying makeup. Hydrating lotions are known for being thick and pasty and sometimes have this sticky effect that I am not a fan of. This hydrating lotion doesn’t do any of those things. Another facial lotion that fits the criteria I like is Honest Company Hydrogel Cream. But this lotion is not creamy. As you put it on your face it feels likes it turns into water. If you are expecting this creamy feeling you will be highly disappointed. I had to get used to it, but once I did, I loved it! I love the way this makes my face feel as I put on my makeup. It feels so light even though it is a hydrating lotion. Using these two lotions I got the same result, a very hydrated face. They just both execute it differently, one is cream and one isn’t.
I finally found a shampoo and conditioner that actually works and that is clean! RenPure is not only clean and works but it’s also American made, family-owned, plant-based AND budget-friendly! I have been looking for a clean brand that would give me volume. I have tried a couple of different brands but none of them worked until I tried Renpure. My hair feels healthier and looks more luscious!
This year I went on a journey to transition into using a clean, natural deodorant. I have tried 4-5 different ones this year and I have finally found one that works for me! I use Love Beauty and Plant deodorant. You have different worries with natural deodorant than you do with others. Natural deodorants have a reputation for not lasting long enough or leave your clothes with stains. I found a brand I liked that covered the smell but then it stained my clothes, but as long as I couldn’t smell myself I was good. Then it messed up some of my favorite shirts. I just had to stop using it and keep trying different ones until I found the perfect one! This new deodorant lasts all day and it doesn’t mess up my shirts! This was exactly what I was looking for! I’m so glad I didn’t settle and found this deodorant.
I love trying new things. I am currently trying a new shampoo and conditioner, facial mist, and mascara just to see what else is out there. You might be getting another health and beauty post sooner than you think. Meanwhile, keep an eye on my social media – I might be posting some more stuff on there before the new health and beauty blog!
