My Top 5: Favorite Products I used in 2018

by | Jan 22, 2019

Today I’m going to talk about my favorite products I started using in 2018. I have stuff from beauty, fashion and FOOD! I specifically chose these items because I could use them every day and not get tired of them! These are the best of the best from 2018!

1. Pixi: Hydrating Milky Mist

When I was in Maryland visiting family during Christmas break my face got so dry. My skin is not used to that kind of cold, dry air anymore. My face started peeling and was really itchy. The face lotion I was using wasn’t helping at all. My mom suggested I use her Milky Mist Spray, and man, I am glad she did. Within 2 days my face was feeling so much better. TWO DAYS!! As soon as I got home I went to the store to get my own.

The Milky Mist is a face mist that you spray on before you put on makeup and/or after you wash your face at the end of the day. You could use it instead of face lotion. It has natural ingredients that really help hydrate your face. It leaves your skin feeling smooth and hydrated, not oily or sticky. It’s also cruelty-free and paraben free. One of my favorite things about it is the way it sprays on. It’s so gentle and its reach is wide. That means you can spray less because in just 1-2 sprays your face is completely covered.

LOVE LOVE LOVE!

I get mine at Target for $15. You can normally catch it on sale or find a coupon for it. I have noticed a HUGE difference since using this for the last month.

2. Tart: Timeless Smoothing Primer

When I started getting into beauty, I started watching beauty reviews on YouTube to see what I should try. Tati Westbrook is my go-to beauty guru on YouTube. She raves about this primer. So I thought I would finally give it a shot. It’s pretty expensive but I just sucked it up and bought it since all the other primers haven’t worked for me.

I wanted to find something that fills and blurs away my pores, makes my makeup last and doesn’t make my makeup look pasty/patchy. This primer meets all of those standards! It’s also paraben and phthalate free!

I love that it’s a paste. It’s almost like you can feel it filling in your pores! Haha!

You can get this primer at Ulta or Sephora. It is pretty expensive, normally $39. But if you go to Ulta they have awesome sales and coupons. I got mine for $7 because of a sale and a coupon!

3. Halo Beauty: Kiwi Seed Skin Booster

This is actually another recommendation from Tati. Tati started her own business called Halo Beauty. All of her products are free of nasty and unnecessary ingredients. She created a Hair, Skin and Nails vitamin, and after a couple of months she noticed people requesting something just for the skin. Halo Beauty: Kiwi Seed Skin Booster was born. I have compared other companies who make skin booster vitamins and nothing compares to the quality of ingredients Halo Beauty Kiwi has.

I started taking it at the end of the year and already notice a difference. My skin has evened out. I normally have little bumps on my face and those are all gone. I am getting fewer pimples when my time of the month comes around.

You can order Halo Kiwi at Halobeauty.com. Side note: Isn’t the bottle super chic!? I love the packaging!

These are a little expensive, but for us, vitamins are an investment in our long term health. For a bottle of 30 tablets, it cost $29.95. With all the things the vitamins provide it’s worth it.

4. Adidas Leggings

I know this is a controversial topic, but oh well. I am one of those people that believe it’s okay to wear leggings as everyday pants. Guilty! For me, leggings are more than workout attire, it’s a lifestyle! Am I being a bit dramatic? Haha! I take my legging game very seriously as you can tell!

I have tried plenty of leggings over the years and by far my favorite pair is Adidas leggings. I can go on about how they are the superior leggings but some of you might think, “doesn’t every pair of leggings do that?” The answer is no. I don’t want to bore you with all the details, but the one thing I will say is they are the perfect pair to work out in AND to wear every day. Most leggings are either for lounging or for working out. Adidas is perfect for both!

You can’t really tell here, but I’m wearing my favorite pair of Adidas leggings here! We were driving from Maryland to North Carolina and I was super comfy the whole drive!

The price can vary depending on where you get it. If you don’t want to go to the Adidas store, you can go to places like Ross or TJ Maxx and get some for a steal.

5. Gen Korean BBQ

Some of y’all may know that my favorite kind of food is Asian food. Any kind of Asian food. By far my favorite kind that I tried this year is Korean BBQ! I’ve had it before but this was the first time having it at Gen Korean BBQ restaurant.

It has a great vibe and is an awesome experience (you cook the food yourself on a grill in the middle of the table). So far we’ve had great service and they have the best selection of food. As a pescatarian, I can’t have meat, but they have a few options I can order and get my money’s worth. They also have my FAVORITE calamari! The dip that comes with it makes it even better. I have no idea what it is, but it’s heaven!

This was from the last time we were at Gen. I had so much garlic shrimp and endless calamari!

We don’t go there all the time, but when we do we are bound to leave with full, happy bellies. This is by far my favorite new place to eat from this past year!

As you can see I am pretty passionate about all 5 of these. That’s why they are my favorites! If you try any of these I would love to hear what you think. What are your new favorite products from 2018? I’m always down to try new things, especially if it involves food!
